1993年，Girl’s Tyme正式改名為天命真女(Destiny’s Child)。除了Beyonce以外，留下來的是凱莉·羅蘭、拉塔薇亞·羅伯森和LeToya Luckette。參加唱片公司試鏡后，被艾麗卡唱片簽下。1995年，唱片公司停止了其專輯的制作，碧昂絲返回家鄉(xiāng)，重新開始。
